The Hudson Police Youth Academy started in 2006 as a way for our Officers to engage and build trusting relationships with the youth in Hudson. Every year since, the Youth Academy has grown to become one of the most sought out summer activities for 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Each year we run two, one week 40-hour long academies with over 80 kids attending each summer. Our program has been so successful it has been a model for other police departments looking to develop their own programs. We are very proud of our work here.
The mission of the Hudson Police Youth Academy is to provide a challenging environment in order to educate, encourage and motivate the youth of Hudson. Throughout this process, respect, self-discipline, integrity, equality, selfless- service, education, and physical fitness will be stressed while incorporating the basic skills necessary to obtain a career in law enforcement.
